This is the group of physicians, pharmacies, hospitals, and other health care providers and facilities that have a contract with a health plan. This network is responsible for looking after the plan’s members. HMOs require members to use network providers, while PPOs charge members extra if they use providers outside the network. These extra charges come in the form of higher coinsurance or copays.
