Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period
The Annual Enrollment Period begins on Oct. 15 and ends on Dec. 7, and if you enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan during that time and wish to disenroll, you must do so by Feb. 14 of the following year. Once you disenroll, you instantly return to Original Medicare, and if prescription drug coverage was included in your Medicare Advantage Plan, you have the chance to enroll in a separate Part D policy during this time period. You can also enroll in a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan (Medigap).
Margaret decided to leave her Part C plan, so she cancelled on Jan. 30 before the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period ended.
