ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease)
Patients suffering from chronic kidney disease are diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease when their kidneys can no longer perform their function of removing waste and excess water from your body. This permanent kidney failure typically requires dialysis and/or a transplant. Because of that, people with ESRD may qualify for Medicare even if they aren’t 65 years old.
