Dual Eligible

This refers to an individual who is eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. For your Medicare coverage you can have Medicare Parts A and B or a Medicare Advantage Plan. If you have full Medicaid and Medicare, you’ll get your Medicare Part D coverage through Medicare and you will also automatically qualify for Extra Help paying for your Medicare Part D coverage. You may still have some prescription drugs and other care that Medicare doesn’t cover, covered through Medicaid.

As Mark was dual eligible, he had many health coverage options at his disposal.
